Furuno has premiered its DFF3D network sensor, which brings side-scanning capability to NavNet TZtouch and TZtouch2 multifunction displays.
The sensor combines the ability to scan port to starboard beneath a yacht with technology from Furuno’s commercial fisheries products, creating a sidebar detection range of more than 650 feet and a downward detection range of more than 1,000 feet.
“The DFF3D utilizes a new, compact multi-beam transducer, along with Furuno’s own advanced signal processing, to produce eye-popping images that will help you find and track fish,” the company stated in a press release. “The transducer and fairing block is only 14 inches long, which makes this a perfect fit for boats of all sizes.”
A built-in motion sensor is designed to keep images stable in rough seas, and displays can be customized with modes including Cross Section, 3D Sounder History, Triple/Single Beam Sounder and Side Scan.
What’s coming next: Additional transducer styles, including a transom mount, are on the drawing board.
