Striped Bass Poacher Caught on Providence River…

From the Rhode Island DEM Facebook Page:

Last night Environmental Police Officers from DEM’s Division of Law Enforcement responded to a complaint of a poacher taking undersized striped bass from an area near the Providence River bike path. Undercover Officers identified the poacher and charged him with possession of undersized and possession over the limit of striped bass. The legal limit for striped bass is currently 1 fish/person/day with a size no less than 28 inches. The seized fish were donated to the Amos House in Providence.

Help us protect what is yours for the next generation. Find possession and size limits for recreational fishing at http://www.dem.ri.gov/marine and report any violations to our dispatch center (401) 222-3070.
