Vicem Yachts has sold a Vicem 65 Classic to a repeat customer, who ordered the yacht with conventional diesel power. Twin 900 hp Volvo Penta D13s are expected to push the yacht to a top speed of 26 knots.
The layout is galley-down with three staterooms and three heads, all finished in classic mahogany. The helm station will be to starboard with a mahogany console and a door to the side deck. Crew quarters will be aft.
“I like things that are a little different from what everyone else has,” the yacht’s owner, who is based in Newport, Rhode Island, stated in a press release. “I know from my last boat that she’s going to handle the seas well, and give me excellent lines of sight from the helm.”
On the aft deck will be a settee and a varnished mahogany dining table inlaid with a compass rose. Coolers will be built in forward of the table, along with a wet bar with a sink, a refrigerator and stowage. Swim platform access will be through a transom door.
Key specs for the Vicem 65 Classic: 66 feet 8 inches length overall, 18-foot-8-inch beam, 81,600-pound displacement.
